This exquisite center table is a true masterpiece, originating from Indonesia, with a slab of wood dating back 20 million years to the Miocene era. The slab features its original natural edge, adding a unique and organic touch to its design.

Wood fossilization is a group of processes where minerals replace all organic material. The petrification process occurs underground when wood is buried under sediments. Wood is then preserved due to the lack of oxygen. Water with a high mineral content filters through the sediments and deposits minerals into the plant's cells. Consequently, when minerals decompose, some kind of rock mold forms in their place.
Trees in this place have to be unearthed from an approximate depth of 2 to 6 meters.
