Neoclassical Empire Style Ormolu and Lapis Lazuli Table
About the Item
Neoclassical Empire style ormolu and lapis lazuli table with patinated bronze mounts,
French, 20th century
Dimensions: Height 74cm, diameter 100cm
Finely wrought in the French Neoclassical Empire style, this centre table features a lustrous blue lapis lazuli circular top with gilt bronze border. The table is supported by a square base with concave sides, similarly decorated with a gilt bronze border. The centre of the base features a lapis lazuli and ormolu urn. From the base springs four gilt bronze legs, scrolled at the top and decorated with a patinated bronze winged figure, then fluted down towards a paw foot.
