Delizioso tavolino inglese a vela risalente alla fine del XIX secolo, realizzato in legno e cartapesta, con struttura tornita e piano sagomato di grande eleganza. La superficie è interamente dipinta a mano, ornata da motivi floreali e inserti in madreperla che donano luce e raffinatezza alla composizione.
Il piano, dal diametro di 55 cm, è montato su cerniera ribaltabile e può essere sollevato in posizione verticale (altezza complessiva 104 cm) o mantenuto in posizione orizzontale (altezza 72 cm), secondo il gusto e la praticità tipica dei mobili da salotto vittoriani. La decorazione pittorica, ricca e originale, presenta numerose usure, segni del tempo che ne attestano l’autenticità e il fascino vissuto.
