About the Item

In the Renaissance Revival style, this substantial desk features a shaped, molded top with an inset faux leather writing surface, over two drawers on each side. The piece rests on carved, scrolled legs joined by a turned H-stretcher, combining elegant detailing with functional design—ideal for a library, study, or formal office setting. Provenance: Recently removed form the historic Bergdoll Mansion in Philadelphia which was designed by architect James H. Windrim and built in 1886. It is in a Beaux Arts / Italianate style.
