About the Item
"Krobo" bench designed by Torbjørn Afdal for Bruksbo Norway in the 1960s, in Rosewood.
This rosewood bench can also be used as a low coffee table. Beautiful grain on top with raised lip edges on the long sides. Metal brackets underneath, original to the piece, offer extra support.
Excellent vintage condition. A few minor scratches on top, and one small indentation on the lip -- all viewable in photos. Table top is 2” thick

Torbjørn Afdal
Torbjørn Afdal was one of the leading designers at Bruksbo Tegnekontor and in Scandinavia. Afdal became more well known when his furniture was bought by US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy and by the Japanese Emperor. In later years, he was granted the commission to design the parliamentary and chairs and tables to the courthouse in Oslo.
