Bellis Coffee Table by Torbjorn Afdal
About the Item
This Bellis coffee table was designed by Torbjorn Afdal in the 1960s for Bruksbo. It is a very functional coffee table, measuring 50cm high and 107cm in diameter. Made of jacaranda top and mahogany legs and structure, it has a gorgeous appearance thanks to the rich grain of the wood, without restoration. Norwegian-born Tobjorn Afdal wanted to show the beauty as well as the functionality of modernist Scandinavian design with this table.

Torbjørn Afdal
Torbjørn Afdal was one of the leading designers at Bruksbo Tegnekontor and in Scandinavia. Afdal became more well known when his furniture was bought by US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy and by the Japanese Emperor. In later years, he was granted the commission to design the parliamentary and chairs and tables to the courthouse in Oslo.
