Børge Mogensen, Tage Kristensen, Teak Coffee Table with Steel Legs
About the Item
A very rare teak coffee table designed by Børge Mogensen for Tage Kristensen. This table was one of the first pieces Mogensen designed with the use of metal as an element. This table matched an easy chair design for Tage Kristensen as well as a complete line of dining chairs, tables and desks for Søborg.
The piece is constructed of solid beech covered in teak veneer and finished with solid teak edges. A unique feature is the tongue and grove joint between the solid teak edges and the exposed solid beech core. The profile of the table angles upwards slightly towards each end lightening the design and giving it a modern flare, mimicking the writing table Mogensen designed during the same period.
We have lightly refinished this piece due to the state it was in when acquired. An amazing addition to any Mogensen collection, or living space.
