About the Item
This dramatic coffee table has terrific presence in any room. The base is a bronze sculpture of a nude woman who sits, resting on a small pillow, as she reaches out and cradles the cantilevered glass top. We have seen other examples of this form, but this table is particularly well done with very fine, sensitive sculpting of the figure. Nicely detailed, with a serene quality, it is difficult to tell if she is at rest or in a meditative state. The scale is wonderful and we love the elliptical glass shape of the top and how it relates to the figure and her pose.
We can see this in an interior filled with traditional antiques or a decidedly modern interior. We wish we had an attribution for the creator, but could find no artist signature or foundry marks on the piece.
Height listed is for the glass top. Overall, the figure measures 24.5" H. Glass top measures 31" x 53".
