Chinese Lacquered and Hand Painted Gilt Coffee Table

About the Item

With hand painted gilt decoration. The tabletop is an older panel, circa early 20th century. Graceful curves and rounded corners characterize the table's structural design, while detailed craftwork heightens its decorative features. The skirt and legs are a later addition transforming the panel into an elegant low table. On the panel's surface is an illustration of a man leading a stag in a pastoral scene of trees and seaside waves. Framing the painting is a series of gilt floral and lattice motifs. The underside of the table depicts an elegantly curved tree with flowers and birds. Dimensions: 51.25 in. width 31.5 in. depth 15 in. height.
