Chinese Rootwood Low Table with Lacquer Top
About the Item
Stunning sculptural Chinese rootwood low table with lacquer top. Flaking finish underneath. Lacquer is done on top of a piece of hardwood and base is hardwood. I took a few small slivers from the table and placed them in a glass and the wood sank to the bottom of the glass. I have the table marked late 19th century for the period but that's an estimate; it definitely has some age to it, please see photos.
