A circa 1840 well decorated tole tray now on custom coffee table height stand. The tray features the Goddess of the Dawn, Eos in Greece, Aurora in Rome, with her chariot & winged horses driving away the darkness. The wooden stand with faux bamboo turned legs & cross-stretchers, painted black with gilt highlights.

This lovely old tray made circa 1860 is inlaid with mother of pearl and tole decorated with flowers set into a lustrous lacquer surface applied to the tinware tray. The flowers are painted in a lively and realistic manner and the tray is further decorated with a meandering border of flowers and vines in gilding and colors along the edge of the dished section of the tray and then again on the broad flat area of the tray's edge. The stand in a Regency form is also decorated in similar colors and with gold.
