New handcrafted small wooden coffee table by Valencia-based designer Vicent Orts.
“Clops i Plots” is the project that Vicent Orts created in the Entorns creative residence space during the month of June 2023. At il.lacions you can purchase pieces from this timeless collection made from local and waste materials. Poplar wood planks, known locally as “Pots de Clop”, were rescued from the rubble of old houses and then restored, giving them a second life. Inspired by the process used by farmers to repair their doors, increasing their autonomy and knowledge of their surroundings, these objects reflect the pragmatism and natural common sense present in rural environments. This generates a debate about the temporality of the materials. Instead of consuming new raw materials, the resources available in the immediate environment are used, thus generating innovative results that are emotionally linked to their context.
