About the Item
Founder of the Bolidismo cultural movement and a key figure in the Memphis scene, Massimo Iosa Ghini is a key figure in Italian architecture and design, a defining figure in the 1980s. His creations for Moroso and Memphis stand out for their bold use of color and fluid forms, expressing a narrative and dynamic style. Architect Iosa Ghini designs with a language that blends aesthetics, function, and a futurist vision, balancing art, industry, and sustainability.
Born in Bologna in 1959, Massimo Iosa Ghini established himself in the 1980s thanks to Bolidismo and his collaboration with the Memphis group. In 1990, he founded Studio Iosa Ghini, which operates in Milan, Bologna, and Miami. As an architect, he has designed residential, commercial, and museum spaces, cultural installations, and public transportation areas and infrastructure. An ambassador of Italian Design, many of his works have received major international awards and recognition.
Fiam Italia is an Italian company operating in the furniture sector. It was founded by Vittorio Livi in 1973.
The first company, Fullet, was founded by Vittorio Livi at the age of 17. It produced colored glass for the furniture industry. This was followed by Artiglass, Curvovetro, Cromoglass, and Vellutart. The merger of several of these companies led to the creation of FIAM in 1973, the first company to produce curved glass furniture.
