Early Paul Kingma Coffee Table in Sober Rust Colored Stone

About the Item

Early Paul Kingma stone coffee table, The Netherlands, 1960s. Bought from the family of the first owner, this table is fresh to the market. The artist Paul Reiner Kingma (1931-2013) was a friend of the family and therefore this table has a strong link to Kingma himself. Kingma tables often are rather showy, with pronounced use of stones, metals and other materials, but this table is beautifully sober. There is only one stone used - and a beautiful stone indeed. Rust-colored and beautiful in lines and relief, this stone is a real feast for the eye. Viewed from above, the stone almost resembles a desert landscape. The colors shifting from red to brown have a warm tone and the table will easily fit in various interior settings. The metal base is simple and straightforward. Great vintage condition.
