This exceptional and rare cocktail table by Edmund Jørgensen is a statement piece in any setting. Its Streamlined silhouette features sculpted and inlaid mahogany legs extending just proud of the tabletop, with a spindled lower tier providing extra storage and a playful element of shadow and negative space. The true showstopper is the textured glass top, frosted and etched with a Neoclassical-inspired depiction of a nude man watering horses at a pond, surrounded by flora and fauna. This scene - with its bold, graphic lines and rich, sensual subject matter - reminiscent of printed works by Erte and Rockwell Kent - fits strongly within the visual aesthetic of the era. This piece is truly a treasure from the transitional period between the Art Deco and early Modern movements, a pivotal time in design history.
