Fossilized Marble Table + Two Vases Amalia Schultless
About the Item
Original artwork from the estate of Amalia Schultless.
She was an obscure artist who lived in Los Angeles.
Her art is in collections throughout the USA and abroad.
These pieces appear to be one-offs.
They were probably fashioned in Italy where she had studio connections there.
The slab marble top is fashioned with a back architectural feature.
It sits on a custom wood base.
The two vases are complimentary pieces that pick up the color accent and design.
Both vases are signed "Amalia 85", and are roughly 9"h x 8"w.
All original vintage condition with barely visible wear on close inspection.
Some veneer loss on the bottom of the wood and two fissures with a chip on the black marble.

Amalia Schulthess grew up in Thurgau, Switzerland and immigrated to America in 1941. She was the subject of a retrospective at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art in 1976.
