About the Item
Beautiful and impressive ArtDeco coffee Table - Attributed to Rene Prou, France 1930 1940
This beautiful Art Deco coffee table is in a burl walnut veneer. The table has been restored, refinished and is in very good condition.
There are two brushed metal knobs on each end that give a sophisticated, light decorative touch..
A very well-known and popular example of the table was produced by Rene Prou between 1929 and 1932, and has a strong similarity to our model.
Rene Prou's table with similar design is illustrated in all the Mobilier Decoration magazines between 1930 and 1932 in a recurring full- page editorial.
This model is also very close to the models sold at Pomone (Ateliers d'Art du Bon Marché ) where Albert Guenot produced and exhibited his models.
A similar model to this table by Guenot is illustrated in his 1934 catalog.
