About the Item
Wood and ceramic coffee table top made of tiles in the style of Roger Capron.
Made between 1960 and 1970.
The tiles were made in Vallauris a village of the South of France. This place brought together numerous artists and ceramists from the 1950s to the 1980s. Among the most famous were Picasso and Capron.
Many tiles and works using these herbarium-style ceramics.
This coffee table has a rare feature for this series, as it is square.
Herbarium ceramics were also used extensively by Roger Capron, Raymonde Leduc and Emmanuel Barrois. This type of work remains highly prized today.
