About the Item
An elegant French midcentury cocktail table circa 1940 in deeply hammered, hand forged iron with bronze patina in the style of Giacometti for Jean Michel Frank. The stunning piece combines a spare Modern feel with a Neoclassical spirit and features large ring pull decorations at each corner. The piece is reminiscent of the great French iron workers: Edgar Brandt, Raymond Subes and Gilbert Poillerat. The diameter of the wrought iron base alone is 28.5".
Additional references: the Giacometti's frequently worked on iron and bronze projects for the atelier of Jean-Michel Frank.
