Italian mid-century modern Double shelf coffee table in buxus and wood 1930-1940

About the Item

Italian mid-century modern Double shelf coffee table in buxus and wood, 1930-1940s Coffee table with double rectangular shelf, entirely made of wood covered with buxus (paper derivative). The upper shelf is cantilevered and has a drawer on the front. The rectangular section legs have a curvature in the upper part. It can be used as a bedside table or service table. The buxus is a material created in 1928 by the Paper Mill Giacomo Bosso as a substitute for veneer, used only in the twenty years of fascism. 1930-1940s Good condition. The two tops have scattered scratches. Scattered light marks, especially at the end of the feet. Measurements in cm 64x43x65h this elegant coffe table is perfect both to be placed near the bed in the bedroom, at the entrance or in a corridor. It can be perfectly adapted to be used as a support for books and magazines in a waiting room or study.
