About the Item
Mid-Century Round Italian silver plated faux bamboo with white Italian marble top and splayed legs.
Arthur Elrod, the Palm Springs modernism interior decorator placed this cocktail table in a mid-1960s commission in California. The home was featured in House & Garden in the early 1970s, where he did the complete custom interior. Provenance available upon request. Wear to plating, no obvious chips to marble.
Arthor Elrod is the famed Palm Springs designer, who's own home designed by architect John Launter was featured in the James Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever.
Elrod received a star on the walk of stars outside the architecture and design center in Palm Springs during modernism week 2019, there was a book released the same week titled Arthur Elrod: Desert modern design by Adele Cygelman. January 2019 Issue of Palm Springs Life has an article title Elrod Eternal.
