About the Item

Rare and unique coffee table with a large hand-carved wood turtle bejeweled with stunning sea shells, polished agate, amethyst and quartz crystals, coral, and brass accents with a silver plated top plate incorporating polished amethyst stones set inside radiating medallions by J. Antony Redmile, England 1970s (signed “Redmile London” on top). New glass top fabricated by Lobel Modern. J. Antony Redmile had a boutique in London in the 1960’s through the 1980’s selling bespoke artisan works featuring precious and exotic materials. His work was often inspired by nature and the sea and he had a star-studded roster of clients. This table is a show stopper and is absolutely magnificent. This table can take any shape glass top. We can help you fabricate one to spec if needed. Reference: Sanai & Sons book on J. Antony Redmile, on pages 60-61 is a photograph of a pair of similar turtles.
