About the Item

A custom coffee table with bleached oak double pedestal base, patinated architectural bronze stretcher, and thick glass top with bull-nose ends by Thomas Hayes Studio. This particular piece is in Bleached oak with Satin Lacquer Finish, and it is available for custom order only. Bleached Oak by its very nature will have some significant variations in color, tone and grain pattern, as you can see in the photos. Some areas may be consistent in color, and some areas may have darker figuration, darker small holes or cracks. We believe this variegation in the finish makes it beautiful and unique, but if you are looking for a more consistent light finish, other woods are also available. It is available for custom order in other sizes, woods and finishes, or alternately with a marble top or wood top. Lead time is 6-8 weeks; sometimes we are able to complete projects faster, so please inquire about lead time. WOOD OPTIONS: Solid Walnut, Oak, Mahogany or Rosewood veneer FINISH OPTIONS: Satin Lacquer in Natural, Ebonized, or Bleached, or specially formulated Hand-Rubbed Oil in a variety of custom shades. These oil finishes are flat, water proof and penetrate deeply, bonding with the upper fibers of the wood to create a silky surface that feels “finished” but looks like raw wood. Available in Blanched, Pure, Gray, Chocolate, & Charcoal. For any custom pieces with solid wood, we deliberately choose to use beautifully figural wood that may have some irregularities. You can expect much variation in grain and some knots, slight cracks, and small filled knot holes that are naturally occurring in the completed pieces. It is part of our aesthetic and process when making hand crafted pieces to not attempt to hide these natural irregularities that we believe make a piece more beautiful and unique.
