Japanese 18th Century Style Lacquered Coffee Table With Scenes of Horses

About the Item

Japanese style equestrian themed lacquered square coffee table with a lift top that opens to a large storage area. The top and sides decorated with decoupage equestrian scenes of individual horses being trained, copied from an 18th century Japanese screen. With brass handles and hasp, the box mounted on a ebonized Asian style base. A successful design, the lively horse of all types and colors dancing across the surface make this table very appealing to the eye. Quite useful also, with all that storage. An unusual and compelling piece. 38 inches square 16 high
