This antique low table was crafted in the Early Showa Period '1926-'. In Japan, where people traditionally sit on the floor, tables are designed to be lower in height compared to Western-style tables. Known as a chabudai, this traditional Japanese folding table features collapsible legs, allowing it to be stored compactly when not in use. What makes this piece special is that it is crafted from oak wood—a rare choice for chabudai—showcasing the distinctive and attractive grain patterns typical of Japanese oak.
