About the Item

This vintage low table (fuzukue) was crafted in the Early Showa Period (1926–). Built in Japanese Sen wood with a black finish, the surface shows gentle, time-worn wear that lends quiet wabi-sabi character. The finish reads true black, with subtle highlights only where use has softened the edges. A fuzukue is a traditional Japanese low writing desk designed for floor-seated work and study. Thanks to its compact scale and low profile, this piece is easy to place and style: it can serve as a coffee table, display stand, plant stand, or compact TV stand, making it an effortless way to introduce Japanese vintage into modern interiors. It has a refined, understated presence that complements both contemporary and traditional spaces. Cleaned and disinfected with a non-toxic solution. The structure is sound. As a vintage piece, minor scratches and marks may be present, each adding to its unique charm and the story it tells over time. It has been carefully inspected and remains in excellent vintage condition, with natural signs of age that enhance its character. The interior dimensions are as follows (in inches, with centimeters in parentheses): Drawer interior (each) W8.9" × D11.4" × H2.2" (22.7 cm × 29.0 cm × 5.7 cm) Weight :10.3lbs(4.7kg) Shipping Information We ship from Japan.
