Kittinger Lotus Coffee Table Mid-Century Gilt James Mont Hollywood Chinoiserie

About the Item

75 years of wear on this coffee table; crazing, chips, cracks, burns, and light stains to all surfaces. This table is In the manner of James Mont with gilt layered gold leaf, gold and black paint, and a craquelure lacquered top surface. The form is a semi spherical thick top which is set on a circular gated black wooden base. Coined, 'the Lotus Table' designed by Theodore Muller and Isabel Barringer for the Kittinger Furniture Company of Buffalo, New York. This is a 42 inch, fairly large and low centerpiece table suitable for any room. Presented here in unrestored as-found fair vintage condition, with 75 years of wear; chips, cracks, burns, and stains to the top and side edge surfaces. Please look at all pictures carefully. This is intentionally presented in original and unrestored condition to preserve the collectible value. This table is strong, tight, level and usable as it is.
