Kolos Low Coffee Table, by Yonoh Studio
About the Item
Kolos is formed in a plaster mould in a pottery where craftsmen apply the glaze and then fire the table. Although shiny and polished to the touch, the material it is made of is evident. The corners absorb less color and become paler while the pigments are concentrated in the rounded areas, making them darker. Kolos therefore forms a highly decorative side table, combining its function as a furnishing accessory with an artistic value to form a showpiece. Its eccentric aesthetic represents an ironic interpretation of the architecture of the Colosseum. Here you are shown the Kolos low coffee table and size Ø 58 x 35 H. This coffee table is also available in the high size as well.
Yonoh is a multidisciplinary creative studio set up by Clara del Portillo and Alex Selma in 2006. The studio is characterized by it’s simple, yet functional designs. Simplicity, innovation and originality, without extravagance, is the backbone to their design philosophy studying each small detail minutely in each of their projects. Their versatility, timelessness and adaptability are the cornerstones of the work done in their studio. During its career Yonoh has been awarded with the most prestigious design prizes worldwide as Red Dot, IF design award, Good Design or Wallpaper* Design Award among others. Clara and Alex, industrial designer by training, developed their careers separately during years until they met on a young designers exhibition in 2004. At the end of 2006 they present their first collection as Yonoh, an ambigram that represents the bicephalus character of the studio. From 2014 they collaborate as associate teachers with the Cardenal Herrera CEU university in Valencia and give lectures and workshops around the world promoting the Yonoh way of work.

Mastea Low Coffee Table in Murano Glass and Walnut Base, by Matteo Zorzenoni
By Matteo Zorzenoni, Miniforms
Located in Brooklyn, NY
This low coffee and side-table comes with a base and top in Canaletto walnut, natural ash, ash stained black, intense blue or anthracite. The structure's body is made out of blown Murano glass, available in amber, blue-grey or smoke grey. Here you are shown the Mastea coffee table in the Canaletto walnut base finish and in the low size.
Matteo Zorzenoni started to experiment with Murano glass in the 1970s and, even if the generations have changed, the glass is blown as it once was: it needs a master glassblower and two strong lungs. Working with this material every day is like revisiting a traditional dish. The ingredients are the same but there is something new in the taste.
Matteo Zorzenoni's research is mainly focused on materials and their limits, aimed at discovering their potential. His projects have been exhibited at: Maxxi Museum in Rome, the Biennale of Art and Design in St. Etienne, the London Design Festival, the Venice Biennale. Matteo Zorzenoni was a professor at the IUAV in Venice, collaborates with the IED in Madrid and hosted a laboratory for Domaine de Boisbuchet (Vitra Design Museum). After a collaboration with Fabrica, Benetton Communication Research Center, he started a new project with Jaime Hayon, which is still on going. His research in the craft sector continues with projects for customers, including Cappellini, Mercedes Benz, Replay, Alcantara, Bosa Ceramiche...
