The gem of a cabinet is fitted with doors and drawers, and decorated on all sides. The top, back and sides with lacquer painted scenes of birds and flowers. Created in China, this low table was originally made from a cut down Lohan bed, also called an opium smokers' bed. The table showcases a rectangular top with hand-woven rattan inset and slightly beveled edges, sitting above an open apron accented with a regular rhythm of pillar strut style motifs. It is raised on four sturdy square-shaped legs giving great stability to the ensemble. The design is the same on all sides, the table will be able to float in a room and be seen from all angles.
