Mario Genovese Onyx & Gilt Bronze Cocktail Table
About the Item
Old world elegant cocktail table from the fifth generation woodworking shop of the late Mario Genovese Custom Furniture of Natick, MA.
The 45.5" diameter circular polished onyx top was purchased on a trip to Italy in the 1960's and has remained in its crate ever since. It is 0.75 inches thick.
The onyx sits atop an Italian pedestal base made of giltwood embellished with patinated bronze and gilt bronze acanthus and laurel leaves surmounting a patinated brass vase-form neck. This is undoubtedly one of the many ornamental elements acquired by Genovese to be worked into one of his creations.
The pedestal base is ~16.5 inches high. It's giltwood is 16 inches diameter and giltwood base is ~22" diameter.
The onyx is well balanced placed on top.
