About the Item

Designed in Paris in the mid-20th century, this signed Pierre Vandel coffee table is a striking example of French modernist design. The rectangular frame features gilt-brass trim with crisp, linear edges, inset with two tiers of beveled glass that reflect light beautifully. The four square legs are executed in lucite with a faux-wood finish, giving the warmth of natural grain while maintaining the clean, airy quality of acrylic. Polished brass corner caps and sabots complete the tailored profile. Bearing its original “Pierre Vandel Paris” plaque, the piece embodies the elegance and innovation that made Vandel a favorite among collectors of French modern design in the 1960s and 70s.
