This modular oval form coffee table was created in French design house Maison Baguès during the mid-20th century. Known for their decorative lighting and metalwork, Maison Baguès specialized in gilt bronze furnishings with a focus on organic motifs and mirrored surfaces. This table features a tripartite design comprising a rectangular central section flanked by two demilune ends, allowing it to function either as a single elongated table or as individual components. The bronze frame is finished in a rich gilt surface consistent with Maison Baguès’ style production techniques and aesthetic.
The table is constructed with a mirrored top set into a gilt bronze frame. The rectangular center is supported by four double legs, while each demilune is fitted with three individual legs. The bronze frames display a repeated foliate motif in low relief, running continuously along the frieze and leg surfaces. The mirror tops are lightly antiqued, contributing texture while remaining structurally even across all three sections.
