About the Item
This is a real true masterpiece from one of the most important post-war european modernist designer.
A very wide, rare and unique circular dining or meating table or even desk, one of the largest sample of the "Etoile" model ever made, bronze stainless steel architectural structure and massive wenge circular top, created by the iconic modernist designer Jules Wabbes, Belgium 1970.
This extraordinary piece of modernism consists in 2 pieces :
- a super massive "Etoile" (Star) structure, massive stainless steel with bronze patinated finish, 6 hexagonal columns connected in a solar structure, are forming the base (over 200 kilos, requiring 4 strong people to be moved!!!).
- massive circular top, formed by a geometric composition of hndreds of thin rectangles of massive wenge wood, creating an authentic and beautiful patina, almost a kinetic effect. Again, this huge masterpiece requires 3 to 4 people to be moved!!!
This piece is a unique model made on demand for french clients in the late 1970's in Brussel and we are proud to present it as it ever was, in great original condition, with its simple and strong presence in any space.
