About the Item

Mogens Lassen (1901–1987) This iconic Egyptian Table was designed by Mogens Lassen in the late 1930s, drawing inspiration from ancient Egyptian folding furniture. With its clean lines and sculptural form, it stands as a hallmark of Danish modern design and functionalist ideals. This version, crafted in the 1950s by renowned cabinetmaker A.J. Iversen, is executed in Cuban mahogany with a beautiful rich, grain. The circular top features a gently raised, beveled edge resting on a X-shaped base. The folding legs are detailed with polished brass hardware and capped floor stretchers, offering both stability and visual elegance. A discreet sliding brass latch beneath the tabletop allows the piece to be collapsed with ease - making it as practical as it is beautiful. Lightly repolished to preserve its original patina, the table remains in very good vintage condition, highlighting the craftsmanship and material quality of mid-century Danish cabinetry.
