About the Item
The low table with double storage compartment presented here is an incredible one-of-a-kind piece from a private apartment in the heart of fashionable Milan, that industrious city that, in the 1970s, saw great designers and exceptional artists such as Nanda Vigo at work. The artist, incredibly imaginative and among the icons of her time, had helped furnish this apartment with many of her works in mirrored glass and chrome steels, as was her style. The low table is thus incredibly akin to Vigo's sharp, cubic lines and play of light and reflections despite having no specific signature or supporting publication. It thus becomes one of those treasures whose secret is kept in archives no longer attainable and in the folds of an era bound by paper and the oral tradition of those who still remember how things went. The matter of the table is the main figure of an object designed to be functional but also to amaze: the important weight, dictated by a solid structure made of wood and plywood, completely covered in mirrored crystal panels ( including the base) is the figure of an element that, around two chrome-plated steel compartments, creates the perfect environment for social and convivial events.

Il tavolo basso con doppio vano porta oggetti qui presentato è un incredibile pezzo unico proveniente da un appartamento privato nel cuore della Milano bene, quella città laboriosa che, negli anni 70, ha visto all'opera grandi designer e artisti eccezionali come Nanda Vigo. La artista, incredibilmente fantasiosa e fra le icone del suo tempo, aveva contribuito ad arredare questo appartamento con molte sue opere in vetro specchiato e acciai cromati, come era suo stile. Il tavolo basso è quindi incredibilmente affine alle linee cubiche e nette e ai giochi di luci e riflessi della Vigo pur non avendo una firma specifica o una pubblicazione di appoggio. Diventa quindi uno di quei tesori il cui segreto è custodito in archivi non più raggiungibili e nelle pieghe di un'epoca legata alla carta e alla tradizione orale di chi ancora ricorda come sono andate le cose. La materia del tavolo è la cifra principale di un oggetto pensato per essere funzionale ma anche per stupire: il peso importante, dettato da una struttura piena in legno e legno compensato, completamente rivestito in pannelli in cristallo specchiato ( inclusa la base) è la cifra di un elemento che, attorno a due vani in acciaio cromato, crea l'ambiente perfetto per eventi sociali e conviviali.
