About the Item
The Mistral Coffee Table is playful and full of life with a fluid form and detail rich construction. It’s made out of solid oak hardwood and built with exposed joinery that has been carefully designed for beauty and strength.
The design was driven by a desire to make as fluid and dramatic a form as possible without compromising on stability and usefulness. The joinery is full of tension as the legs overhang and fall away from the table, but that tension gives it strength, both literally and figuratively, and creates a dynamic table that will add interest to any space.
Each piece is built to order one at a time by master craftspeople in our shop in Albuquerque, NM, and assembled to respect the character of the individual pieces of wood. We use a durable hand rubbed oil-wax finish that’s long lasting, easy to repair, and brings out the wood’s natural beauty.
The Mistral Coffee Table ships flat packed and some simple assembly is required, instructions and hardware are included.

Arid is based in the desert landscape of Albuquerque, NM, and designs and builds its furniture in-house. They create sharply contemporary, charismatic designs rooted in traditional craftsmanship that has been reimagined through modern machinery and techniques. Each piece is built one at a time using exposed joinery, careful detailing, and hand-matched boards to create a unified whole reveling in the beauty of wood. Arid’s mission is to use a daring design sensibility paired with a deep love for how things are built to make pieces that are brimming with life and that bring delight into the world.

As a lucky kid growing up in the Aegean coast, the visits to these archaeological sites was an indispensable tradition of our family summer vacations. These visits always left me in awe, as the imagery and sensations of visiting these majestic remains of ancient times always gave a larger than life feeling to the mind and soul of that little kid I was back then. Looking back, I must add that the feeling changed only a little. Arkhe collection is a tribute to these magical ruins of my childhood memories and to all the history, culture and myths they whisper to our collective consciousness.”
