IN STOCK Made from solid volcanic rock, the Fortezza Stool features three hand-cut stones with raw edges and a smooth top surface. The intersecting steel base adds stability and contrast. About William C Stuart William C Stuart (b. 1975, Bronx, NY) is an American artist currently working between New York and Buenos Aires. Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colgate University with Honors in Studio Art and was the recipient of the John F Fitchen III Art Prize in 1998. Worked independently in Paris in 1995 and 1998. In 2002, he founded Costantini Design. His works span sculpture, furniture, video, painting, photography, and writing, among others. About Costantini Costantini has been a trusted source for custom furniture, objects and lighting for a global client base since 2002. Its founder and owner, William Stuart, is a designer and artist who began his career as a multimedia artist and sculptor, practices which continue to inform the work. With a studio showroom in New York and a team of artisans at their own workshop in Buenos Aires, the Costantini team is able to connect artisans and artists with acclaimed clientele around the world. Its artisans work across many disparate materials such as bronze, solid wood, fiberglass, steel, plaster, goatskin, leather, rush, iron, marble, sheepskin and more. This one-of-a-kind solid wood side table is an experiment from Costantini based on their popular Caliz side table. We glued together dozens of solid pieces of wood, then carved it with a chainsaw, then hand sanded it and lightly finished it to preserve the raw look. Available as shown for immediate delivery or as a custom piece made to your specifications. Measurements are: 19" Dia x 23" H Other materials available are Argentine Rosewood, Oak, Walnut, Maple, Cherry, Beech, Elm and Okume. About Costantini Design Costantini is a furniture design and manufacturing company founded in 2002 by artist and designer William C Stuart. The name Costantini comes from his maternal grandfather, a first generation Italian-American. Born in New York City and raised upstate, William majored in studio art at Colgate University with a year abroad in Paris, graduating with honors. In 2001, he traveled to Buenos Aires and fell in love with the culture and craftsmanship instantly. He designed his first collection soon after and opened an art and design gallery in Los Angeles.
