pair of French 19th century Charles X st. Ormolu and Glass coffee/side tables

About the Item

A stunning and most impressive pair of French 19th century Charles X st. Ormolu and Glass coffee/side tables. Each elaborate and high quality table is raised by three scrolling foliate decorated legs with pawed feet and supported on a triangular base with cut corners and concave sides. The three sides between each leg are tastefully decorated with scrolling designs, fluted patterns and additional foliate decorations. Above the foliate decorated base is another triangular mount with concave sides and cut corners which displays more scrolling foliate patterns as well as reeded designs on all three sides. Atop the triangular plate are three 'S' scrolled berried acanthus leaves with Phoenixes on the tops which encase the central support for the Glass top. The central support is wonderfully decorated with scrolling floral and foliate designs. The circular Glass top is secured by an Ormolu top cap of a beautiful maiden with flowing hair with a palmette above.
