Taula Porca — Pink Pig-Shaped Coffee Table in Hand-Cut Ceramic Tile by Bussoga
Taula Porca is a whimsical yet meticulously crafted coffee table in the shape of a pig, fully clad in hand-cut pink ceramic tiles. This standout piece is part of an ongoing animal-shaped furniture collection by Bussoga, a Barcelona-based design studio known for its experimental use of ceramics and tile.
While Bussoga traditionally uses screen-printed ceramic tiles in mural and pattern work, this collection embraces a new method: smooth tile cladding. Each tile is individually shaped using pliers, diamond discs, and tips, resulting in a textured, sculptural surface that merges craftsmanship, humor, and surrealist influence.
Originally inspired by rural iconography, the Taula Porca is part of a series that includes pigs, sheep, cows, sharks, and crocodiles. The project debuted as part of the Madrid Design Festival 2024, where Bussoga was featured among a new wave of “rural designers.”

Bussoga is a ceramic and design studio led by Irina Grosu and Josep Motas, rooted in Catalonia. Their work blends mathematics, surrealism, and social commentary to reimagine ceramic traditions in bold, contemporary ways.
