About the Item
This large coffee table base was built using an ornate antique gate from France. Crafted in Provence circa 1850, the gate features exceptional craftsmanship that highlights its historical charm. The table stands on four sturdy square legs, connected by a gracefully arched bottom stretcher, providing both stability and elegance. The intricate neoclassical design of the antique ironwork showcases masterful scrollwork, floral motifs, ribbon accents, and a central medallion features a classical Roman or Greek style profile rendered in high relief. The top is further dressed with a thick heavy piece of beveled glass, combining practicality and aesthetic appeal. The cocktail table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a patinated black and silver polished steel finish. A great addition to a den or living room. Few scratches on the glass (normal wear). Close to 200 pounds!
