About the Item
Inspired by the Japanese Raku ceramic technique, the Raku Table is characterized by the cracks that run like veins throughout the material, creating random patterns. This ancestral Japanese technique is the incarnation of the Wabi-Sabi concept, which represents the beauty of imperfection, impermanence and incompleteness. While the random veining of the Raku brings with it a delicate and poetic note, the Raku top rests on a robust hammered bronze pedestal base that creates the visual sensation of a stand alone sculpture.
