Vintage Coffee Table with birds and flowers motive laid in a wood frame by Roger Capron.
Vallauris, France 1970s.
Mr. Capron produced a lot of motives,or scenes, using from 1 to 21 tiles at a time. But more often, these striated and hand carved tiles were used to create more comp[lax designs as it is the case here. Mr. Capron was fascinated by lively scenes and animals. His favorites were birds, chickens and fish. This table depicts a scenery with chickend and birds.
The table is in very good condition, with the wood restained and varnished.
