About the Item
Heart pine refers to the heartwood of the pine tree, which is the non-living center of the tree trunk. This wood is prized by woodworkers for it's strength and resilience. An inch of heart pine requires 30 years growth. Due to deforestation and over-harvesting since colonial days, only about 3% of the original Longleaf Pine forest remains. This table is composed of four pre-1900 12" x 12"; beams that lie together on a blackened steel base. Blackened steel butterfly keys join the beams together.
This is a bespoke piece so custom dimensions, materials, colors and finishes (both interior and exterior) can be accommodated. Please inquire for pricing.
