About the Item

A gorgeous square coffee table designed by Giovanni Offredi for Saporiti in the 1980s. This table was constructed with wood and has a striking birdseye maple veneer. The base consists of four demilune supports featuring sculptural arch cutout details with a patinated brass border. Retains ‘Saporiti Italia’ sticker on the outer leg. Sourced in Italy, 1980s. Giovanni Offredi (1927-2007) was a prominent Italian furniture and product designer recognized for his use of angular lines and exposed wood or metal frames. He began making furniture for the wealthy elite of Milan, and these early designs showcased his mastery of simplistic elegance. In the 1960s, Offredi entered a long running partnership with Saporiti, an Italian design shop and furniture maker, which resulted in many of Offredi’s most iconic designs.
