About the Item
Here's a nice tessellated coffee or cocktail table attributed to Maitland Smith. The table is not signed, but it has all the characteristics of a Maitland Smith piece and no doubt made in the Philippines. This form is more desirable and unusual than most MS tables and is somewhat reminiscent of designs by Karl Springer.
Condition is good--there are some small chips and roughness to the stone tiles--mostly on the corners--the larger losses are shown in the photos. These could be repaired--but because of variation in the stone, they're not highly noticeable. All in all, this table presents very nicely.
