Victorian Coffee Table + Round Steel Top on Brass Casters
About the Item
Antique walnut cocktail table or generously scaled side table, dating to the late 1800s. The base is fully original and beautifully preserved, with finely turned legs and carved details resting on brass casters, all exhibiting a rich natural patina. Originally topped with marble, this piece has been thoughtfully reimagined with an industrial twist. We’ve added a custom circular raw steel top—a nod to the era of industrialization that was beginning to shape modernity when this table was first crafted. The juxtaposition of the delicately executed walnut base with the minimalist steel top creates a compelling visual dialogue. Each element bears its own history: the base aged and warm with time, the top raw. A sophisticated statement piece that bridges 19th-century refinement with early industrial boldness.
