Vintage Brass and Mosaic Coffee Table Attributed to Ed Wormley for Dunbar
About the Item
Coffee table composed of an inset mosaic of Murano glass tiles framed by solid brass trim and base (ca. 1950s, USA).
The brass (originally tarnished from decades of use) has been hand-polished to a satin finish; only slight scratches to the brass trim remain. There is some wear to the glass tiles (no breakage, just very light wear).
Believed to be an early example of Ed Wormley for Dunbar, given slight differences from the more common example (there is more brass used in the frame construction and a design variation of the legs, this example was not designed with square ferrules).
Evidence of a screw exists, which would have supported the manufacturer's medallion to the underside. However, no markings are present.
