About the Item
Teak and ceramic tile coffee table from the 1960s in Denmark, produced by Haslev Møbelfabrik. Designed by Severin Hansen, tiles from Royal Copenhagen. (See marks under the tabletop). Severin Hansen's style is evident in the perfect proportions of this coffee table and the detail of the joints between the top and the legs. The 45-degree beveled joints at the four corners are typical of his work. The simplicity of his style gives his design its elegance, which will fit in anywhere and stand the test of time, beyond passing fads. The top is covered with ceramic tiles in very Scandinavian tones.
The colours are soft and blend perfectly with the tone of the wood. These ceramic tiles were produced by Royal Copenhagen, which, as its name suggests, has been the Danish crown's manufacturer for two centuries.
