About the Item

Wave Coffee Table by Donatas Zukauskas Dimensions: D 55 x W 72 x H 46 cm. Materials: Oak, and mixed material. The visual inspiration for the coffee table is a combination of natural wood and concrete. These two opposite materials combined, create a unique character of the product that has the coldness of concrete and the coziness of wood. The tabletop is made of natural oak, and the base of the table, resembling concrete in appearance, is made by pouring solid mass. The set task was technologically challenging - it was necessary to fuse wet mass and moisture-sensitive wood. The entire structure of the table is manufactured at the same time, so that the two materials join together smoothly and precisely to avoid any gaps. After the product dries, it is scrubbed, and the tabletop is oiled. The black concrete-like material is the result of various experiments. It is a mixture of several components: an eco-friendly of cement, recycled paper, glue, and paint. Dried it becomes as strong as wood, it resembles concrete but is slightly elastic, so it does not split or crumble. The result is a natural texture and strength that ensures durability. This material does not change color over time and is not afraid of moisture, dust can be wiped with a damp cloth. Donatas Žukauskas Hello, my name is Donatas Žukauskas, I am an interior designer. I have graduated Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts and for more then 15 years I have been designing the interiors. Since I can remember myself I have always been interested in the art and this is the reason I have always tried to decorate interiors with art works. I strongly believe, a perfect interior cannot be without art! This concept used to get difficulties because could not find necessary objects for interior like stylish tables, lamps, lanterns, vases, sculptures. This gave an idea to create some arts by myself. Exceptional hand-made details for the home, cafe, and hotel spaces provide expressiveness and manners. My works are exposed in different countries of the world. Recently 50 lanterns went to Sheraton’s restaurant at Doha, Qatar.
