About the Item

We have had a few requests for our larger BLTs with wood top so we decided to create one for the opening night of a renowned Thai artist's work to showcase as part of our new collection. The wood had to be cut thin enough to fit flat into the frame and it sits perfectly so. The colors and grains of the this particular Makha Tae wood complement the brown brass. The beginnings of our wood topped BLTs. Next stop the golden sand frame with a more bleached wood perhaps? Lead time 12 weeks Important notes 100% hands, no robots BLT frames P.Tendercool's BLT frames are made with extruded brass rods and are 100% cut, welded, cleaned, brushed and finished by Hand. Which means BLTs will never be machine-perfect: some edges will be a bit rounded or very slightly out of angle. This may leave tiny gaps when placed together and some welding traces will always be visible. BLTs show our hands... BLTs can be used outdoors but be aware that Brass and Bronze oxidizes: although we apply a protective, maintenance-free primer-coating, minor discoloration over time will occur. Antique dealers call this Patina. Expect this mainly with our naked BLTs, which show the natural brass, This patination phenomenon is perfectly normal, inevitable and intentional. BLTs will age with grace. BLT glass tops We offer a range of tempered glass tops in a great many colors, or send us your swatch and we'll match. We advise not to sit or stand on our BLTs with glass tops and note glass tops typically are a few mm smaller than the frames to ensure they'd always fit: minor gaps between glass and frames are normal.

Wear consistent with age and use. Since we use reclaimed wood from Vintage Thai houses, the wood may show traces of restoration, some holes might be filled in (from old wooden pegs), or other marks from the wood's past, which in our view add a unique character to each item we create.
